Abstract Title
:
HIV and its influence on our society over the years
Short Abstract
:
In this work, we will talk about how the stigma in sexually transmitted diseases has affected our societies, normalizing violence and hatred towards the people who suffer it, pointing out and discriminating against them; Specifically, HIV will be discussed, since this disease is well known and "famous" because there was a time when it was a challenge or a very funny act to infect different people with HIV, also when it began to become known it was called the gay disease, causing even more hatred towards gay people who were just beginning to speak up and be proud of who they were.
Long Abstract
:

Over the years, human beings have taken different reasons to spread hatred and violence, something that justifies their cruel and inhuman acts towards those who are different, and unfortunately many of these reasons come to be accepted, because many people fall into the stigma and manipulation of society and just to not be us who they point to, we join them in these cruel acts, this can range from throwing the stone or just turning our faces when we see someone do it, our need to fit within the normality of society leads us to commit unthinkable acts. HIV from the beginning was a disease in which its patients were seen with disgust and rejection because it was a disease that was believed to be of homosexuals, it reached such a point that it was believed that even mere contact with someone who had HIV could cause you to contract it, the reason may be the fact that it was an unknown disease, but knowing our societies that previously had taken the fact of being a Jew to murder and torture wouldn´t make us think that it was just an excuse, one more reason to be able to say that gays were disgusting, wasn´t the same thing said about black people, that they should not be touched, that they had different diseases, that they were not trustworthy, that they were going to harm their children, again it was note the pattern of hatred towards a minority, towards a group of people who are violated just because they are different, at this point we should´ve opened our eyes and realized that their arguments to justify hatred and violence are the same, but the one who does not know his history, is doomed to repeat it.
