Short Abstract
:
The results of this study provide a clear picture that through these groups tribal women increase their income, expenditure, and savings for future use. However, it is also found that, SHGs builds strong sense of social capital, natural capital and financial capital among the group member, which additionally, increase their self-confidence, participation in decision-making, control over family finance and communication among the members.
Long Abstract
:

Self Help Groups (SHGs) are played an effervescent role not only for the empowerment of women but also to fosters the tribal livelihoods. Thus, in order to portray the role of SHGs for fostering the livelihood of rural poor in tribal dominated area, this article undertaken by employing the cross-sectional study in two-gram panchayats of Koraput district of Odisha. The results of this study provide a clear picture that through these groups tribal women increase their income, expenditure, and savings for future use. However, it is also found that, SHGs builds strong sense of social capital, natural capital and financial capital among the group member, which additionally, increase their self-confidence, participation in decision-making, control over family finance and communication among the members.
