Abstract Title
:
Understanding some Healing Processes in an African (Cameroon) Culture.
Short Abstract
:
Psychotherapy in Africa has often been misconceived. Using the methods of literature review, direct naturalistic observation and personal experience, we present in this article some healing activities of the traditional healers, the religious faith healers and the western oriented psychotherapists in Cameroon for a better understanding.
Long Abstract
:

Datas collected on the fieldwork research led us know that the three healing methods are actively involved in psychotherapy in their own different ways. The present article mentions that there are more psychological problems that is often believed but most of the patients and clients go to the traditional or religious faith healers, and the three healing methods have not been coordinated for the maximum benefit of the patients and the clients.
