Leisure Accelerated Fertility Growth Rate: A Sociological Study of Working Class in India
Short Abstract
:
There is a strong correlation between leisure time and fertility. If both husband and wife are together in free time, then there is a chance for having sex. One of the main reasons for the rapid increase in fertility in India is the large amount of free time people have. In India women work only for five hours out of 24 hours and men work only for 10 hours out of 24 hours i.e. women have 19 hours of free time per day and men have 14 hours of free time per day. Out of total 8760 hours in a year, women have 6935 hours as free time and men have 5110 hours out of total 8760 hours as free time. Therefore, if men and women have a total of 16.5 hours of free time on an average, then the frequency of sex and intercourse increases among them and the possibility of pregnancy and having children may also increases, which directly affects the population growth, hence the main factors of population growth. So this can be generalized that there is a positive co-relation between excessive free time and population growth. In the present study, the relationship between free time and population will be studied, in which the day of the week, such as Sunday, government holiday, casual leave, summer vacation and winter vacation and other institutional holiday, which people celebrate as free time, all of them are related to the population. What is related to growth will be scientifically studied.
