Marxist ethno-national theory research in China has made substantial achievements, Especially the Sinicization of Marxist ethno-national theory has become a classic paradigm as the Chinese ethno-national theory.In order to further promote and innovate the study of classical paradigm,Chinese academic circle has put forward two thoughts: "enriching paradigms" and "transforming paradigms". Different from these two ideas ,the proposal of “Unionism with Diversity”is a beneficial attempt to promote the classic paradigm,which reflects not only the correct way to solve ethno-national issues with Chinese characteristics,but also the change of vision from a relatively closed thinking to a relatively open thinking,from constructing a single genealogical "theory" in China to advocating a rich connotation of "ism" to the world.So it can be said that the proposal of “unionism with diversity” is not only an embodiment of the academic development of Chinese ethno-national theory, but also an important embodiment of the gradual improvement of Chinese cultural soft power construction, and an important embodiment of Chinese wisdom and solutions in solving ethno-national issues in the new era. In this sense,  “unionism with diversity” is worth further study and spread to the world.
