Getting to a new space with the understanding that it was merely for better opportunities, while the ancestral home was always there to fall back upon,but then soon the hosts looked upon them as usurpers in their own land. Many came from Assam and Bengal as the office workers for the British government whose education system had uplifted them to a better status. This paper discusses how the Bengali community dealt with the rising temperature of emotions among those whom they had considered to be co participants in their own land.
