Migration and Livelihood: Study on Bodo Tribe of Udalguri District of Assam
Short Abstract
:
People from Bodo tribe are can be seen going to other states to earn money for their life and family. Many are goes to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, etc. where they work in stone cutting work, cake making factory, restaurants, etc. and girls do work as household helps. Many of them went because of the poor condition of the family, but some dropout from the schools and colleges and just to earn money they go there.
Long Abstract
:

Assam is one of the states from Northeast India, Udalguri District is also of the district in the state which comes under the Bodoland Territotial Region (BTR). This district is one of the backward district which there is no indutrial development and many under previlage peoples. In this district Bodo Tribes is the largest community can be found with  around 40% of the population. There can be heard that many people are going to other states of India to work as they see that it good to go out of the state and earn. Atleast one person from almost all the villages is found that he/she went to other state for informal works. This paper will try to understand the determination of people who migrates to work in other states and their nature of work. The data will be collected on both primary and secondary process of data, primary data will be collected through interview with key respondents and telephonic conversation and secondary data will be collect from, news, journels, govt, report from internet sources, etc. Snowball sampling method will be raken during the data collection. The respondents will be the people who are informals workers.
