Short Abstract
:
The cultural diversity of India is a well established fact. The diversities of culture, language, lifestyle etc. make Indian Society unique.However to maintain this uniqueness has never been a cake walk. The society which is socially,culturally,ethnically diverse, has to face many challenges to uphold the social cultural identities of these micro groups which are not only the inhabitants of North Eastern Region of India, but are found in Northern,Southern,Western part of India. It is observed that there are of problem of inter cultural adjustment. Due to various reasons this region has encountered the problem of marginalization, displacement and exclusion since independence.
Long Abstract
:

The paper explores the scenario which has been existent in North East India,particularly the tribal region of the states.This paper will highlight the issues of marginalization,displacement and exclusion which are being experienced by the tribes of this region.It is a qualitative and theoretical analysis of tribal problems and which is largely based on the secondary data and empirical researches of the Anthropologists,Sociologists.The issue of marginalization and displacement has been a contentious issue in this region.The problem has been so remarkable that as a consequence the region was alienated and struggled to be the part of mainstream Indian society.The naxalite movement in various part of the region,accelerated the alienation process in the region.The cultural diversity of India is a well  established fact. Due to various reasons this region has encountered the problem of marginalization, displacement and exclusion since independence.The paper will delineate the problems.processes of conflict,political alienartion,issues of cultural homogeniety and heterogeniety.challenge of maintaining tribal cuture vis a vis implementing developmental projects.The paper will  also incorporate governmental schemes and efforts to address the problems of infilteration,naxalism,poverty and political apathy.
