The study was taken with the aim of bringing out the efficiency of health care facilities provided by government, observation of taboos which is very much prevalent among tribal, practice of using tobacco in any form during pregnancy as they all directly or indirectly affect the overall health of the mother as well as the unborn child. Another aspect taken into consideration in this study is the different pattern of feeding practices by mothers on their child for a period of one year in order to throw a light on the growth of the babies.  The objectives undertaken in this study are certainly an important aspect of research as they throw light on the overall health of not just the mother-infant pairs but the community as a whole. It can also assist in strict implementation of policies which would substantially reduce the overall burden faced in this field.
